Mary Leach-Sumlin is a lifelong Milwaukee resident. In her early years, Mary attended and graduated from Milwaukee Public Schools with a concentration in Chemistry from Milwaukee Trade and Technical High School, now Bradley Tech. After high school, Mary worked in various positions in the health insurance industry and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. Feeling the desire to do something more for her local community, Mary left her work in corporations to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. In December of 2007, Mary took a position working for ACTS Housing, a non-profit Real Estate Brokerage, where she worked as an agent with families- many lower income- purchase homes. She has also worked alongside many neighborhood organizations to include Amani, Garden Homes, Lindsay Heights, and Sherman Park.
After 10 years of working with ACTS Housing, Mary was approached by the Franciscan Peacemakers to take a more formal position as the Associate Director. In this position, Mary has the opportunity to assist women in pursuit of a life without homelessness, drug and/or alcohol addictions, and prostitution. Not wanting to completely due away with her Real Estate background, Mary made the decision to open up her own private brokerage with the hopes of still being about to work with individuals and families on a referral basis. Additionally, the brokerage provides a home for other local agents who prefer to do business in similar communities and clientele.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch College (University), and a member of Community Baptist Church of Greater Milwaukee.
